Kids Not Color is what I get when I hear/read Martin Luther King Jr’s speech. I Have A Dream was spoken on August 28, 1963. This was a powerful, history-altering speech where MLK, Jr spoke what most Americans were thinking.
Here is my favorite part of the speech (the rest is linked below):
…when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God’s children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual:
Free at last! Free at last!
Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!
My prayer is that everyone can learn the greatest commandment of all, which is to love one another. We are all created in the image of Christ. Every. Single. Person. When God looks down on us, He sees the face of His Child, Jesus. We all bleed the same color. We all have the same insides…now if our outside actions could just match our insides.
