Large Family Happenings

A Quarter of a Century

A Quarter of a CenturyDear Big Daddy,

We have been married for 25 years, a quarter of a century!

I have loved you for

299 Months, 3 Weeks, 2 Days, 11 Hours, 53 Minutes, and 20 Seconds

1303 Weeks and 4 Days

9125 days

219,000 hours

13,140,000 minutes

788,400,000 seconds

You are my friend.  My person and the love of my life.  You have given me the highest of highs and the lowest of lows.  We have 7 pretty children in our home, 2 in heaven, and 2 for a season.

Thank you for always buying me a 20 oz coke when you go to Walmart.  Also, for making me a pizza every week.  You never complain when I bring in a stray child, person, friend, or animal.

I love the fact I can stand behind you and no one sees me.  Wearing your clothes gives me peace.  The fact that you smell like cherries jubilee makes me smile.  You cheer on my crazy and accept me for who I am.

I love the fact that your girlfriend was my best friend and that you loved her as fiercely as I did.  The fact that you miss her and let me have *many* moments over these 2 years, gives me peace.

You offer suggestions for crazy hair colors.  Always telling me I look pretty when I look like a bridge troll.  One day, we are going to be grandparents and I will officially be sleeping with the hottest grandfather ever 🙂  One day, though…not right now.

We are old and technically we have been together for 26 years, but who has time for that kind of math.  Not I said the fly.  You bring me joy.

Here’s to the next quarter of a century and a life beyond.
