There was never just one moment that shaped my story. It has been a lifetime of moments. Some beautiful, some heartbreaking, and many that changed me in ways I never expected.
At my core, my heart has always been for three things: my family, Jesus, and helping others.
But life has not been easy.
Walking Through Trauma, Motherhood, and Life’s Hard Seasons
I have walked through seasons that altered me deeply. Learning how to be a wife and a mother, navigating adoption, raising children with special needs, and walking through trauma that reshaped how I see the world.
I went back to school and graduated at 40. Then, I returned to work at 50. I have faced chronic health issues like psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. There have been experiences of betrayal from people I love. I have grieved deeply, including the loss of my daddy and the devastating reality of suicide attempts and loss within people close to me.
There have been seasons where I had to learn how to forgive others, ask for forgiveness, and even forgive myself.
Finding Joy in Hard Places Through Faith
Through all of it, I have learned this:
Joy is not the same as happiness. Happiness comes and goes with circumstances but joy, joy comes from the Lord. That kind of joy can exist even in the hardest places.
From Adoption Blog to Faith and Healing Journey
This blog began as something simple. An online journal during our adoption journey from Ethiopia so family could follow along. Over time, it grew into a space for homeschooling, homemaking, and sharing practical ways to stretch what we had.
Then life got harder and this space became an outlet. Now, it has become something more.
A Space for Healing, Hope, and Real Life Faith
This is a place for honesty.
For healing.
And faith in the middle of real life.
I write for the ones who feel unseen.
The ones who are tired.
And the ones carrying things they don’t talk about.
You Are Seen, Heard, and Worthy
I want you to know:
You are seen.
And you are heard.
You are believed.
Most importantly, you are worthy.
You do not have to chase after people or things that do not choose you. Also, you do not have to prove your value. Sometimes, simply breathing in and out is enough for the day and that counts.
Finding Your Voice, Healing, and Purpose After Trauma
I want to help people find their voice
Advocate for themselves.
Understand how to stay safe.
Learn about suicide prevention.
To sit in the ashes of what they’ve walked through and begin to see that there is still beauty there.
Because there is. Even here. Especially here.
God’s Purpose in Pain and the Power of Faith
I believe God is a healer but I also believe He uses what we walk through to refine us, teach us, and prepare us to walk alongside someone else.
Even when we cannot see the outcome. When it does not look the way we hoped. There is purpose and one day, it will be revealed.
Holding On to Hope When Life Feels Heavy
Until then, we hold on. We keep going. And we remind each other that we are not alone.
You are enough.
You are worthy.
Your story matters.
