My New Book Is Now Available: Nobody Told Me: The Honest Truth About Grief

Today’s post feels like the right place to share something deeply personal.
My new book, Nobody Told Me: The Honest Truth About Grief, is now available on Amazon.
This book was written from a place I wish I did not understand so well. It was written while walking through the anticipatory grief and loss of my daddy, while also sitting with the sacred weight of grief in the lives of others through my work as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
Grief is not always what people think it is.
It is not always crying in the middle of the room. Sometimes grief looks like exhaustion. It can sometimes look like irritability, brain fog, silence, numbness, guilt, anger, or trying to keep going when your heart feels like it is carrying something too heavy to explain.
Sometimes grief begins before the goodbye ever comes.
Sometimes it lives in ordinary things. A chair. A cup. A sound. A routine. A place at the table. A phone call that no longer comes. A version of life you thought you would have longer.
That is why I wrote this book.
Nobody Told Me: The Honest Truth About Grief is a faith-based devotional and journal for anyone learning to carry loss, sorrow, change, and hope all at the same time. It does not offer easy answers or tidy stages. It offers honesty, Scripture, reflection, gentle practices, and space to breathe.
This book is for those grieving a death, a relationship, a version of themselves, a season of life, or a future that did not unfold the way they hoped. It is for the person who still believes in God but has questions. The one who is tired of pretending they are fine. It is for the heart that needs permission to grieve honestly and still reach for hope.
Each chapter includes a devotional reading, a reflection question, a gentle practice, a closing encouragement rooted in faith, and writing space to process at your own pace.
My prayer is that this book meets people in the tender places grief often touches most. Not with pressure or polished answers. Not with shame. But with the gentle reminder that you are not alone, you are not forgotten, and God is still near, even here.
You do not have to grieve alone.
Honestly, you do not have to have the right words.
You only have to begin.
